Indian sweet and salty lemonade is a very easy and refreshing summer drink and needs only 5 ingredients!
Lemonade is one of those drinks which is not only popular but almost everyone has memories with it. Growing up, during summer, after playing with friends, coming back home, very tired and sometimes out of breath climbing 4 floors, chilled lemonade or lassi used to do the trick!
What makes Nimbu Paani so special?
The lemonade made here is much sweeter than the one my mom used to make growing up. The reason is that here lemon juice is added to the simple syrup ( base of a beverage made from equal parts of sugar and water) while in Indian Nimbu paani, instead of adding so much sugar, some salt is added for the lemon juice to mix much better in the water. In other words, this recipe uses very less sugar, and it is an amazing substitute for soda.
Indian sweet and salty lemonade / Nimbu Paani recipe :
Serves 4 ( Serving size – 1/2 cup)
- Water – 2 cups (room temperature)
- Sugar – 2 tbsp
- Salt – 1/4 tsp
- Lemon Juice – 1 tbsp
- Ice – to serve
- Add salt and sugar with 2 cups of water.
- Stir until dissolved.
- Now add lemon juice and stir again.
- Serve it over ice immediately or chill it in the fridge for 3-4 hours or until it is cold.
