Green chutney /Cilantro and Mint chutney is a simple and delici0us condiment which needs only 8 ingredients and takes a few minutes!
We all know greens are healthy, but most of us think greens are boring. But this chutney may change your opinion. There are so many versions of this chutney, depending on the street food and in which dish it is used. Personally, after trying a few different varieties, I have settled down to this one.
What makes Green Chutney so special?
Cilantro is one of my favorite greens, I use it for garnishing lot of my dishes, making cilantro rice etc and this is another recipe which I make frequently and have at least a bottle of it in my fridge at all times. I make sandwiches with this chutney and it is a part of many kinds of street food. It is not only flavorful but it is so rich in calcium and has so many health benefits. Not to say, to make this dish more refreshing there is mint. When added with all the other ingredients it is so delicious!
Green chutney /Cilantro and Mint chutney recipe:
- Cilantro leaves – 1 cup packed
- Mint – 1/2 cup packed
- Green chilly – minced – 2 Tsp
- Ginger – 1/2 tsp minced
- Salt – 1/4 Tsp
- Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
- Water – 2 tbsp
- Sugar – 1/4 Tsp
- Blend all the ingredients into a smooth paste in a blender or a food processor.
- Once it is ground into a smooth paste, add some more water if you want a thin consistency.
- You can store it in the refrigerator for a week. If you don’t use it, you can freeze it in ice cube trays and thaw them as required.
