Date Tamarind Chutney is a very easy condiment recipe and needs only 6 ingredients!
There are so many kinds of condiments in India, and every state has their varieties. Date Tamarind chutney is used very mainly in street foods like chaat, pakoda etc.
What makes Khajur Imli ki chutney so special?
The flavor of this condiment is really good, mainly because of the balance of sweet and sour. It has common, natural ingredients which can be found in our pantry. The main ingredient in this dish is dates, which is so healthy and it doesn’t matter even if we eat a lot.
Date Tamarind Chutney recipe:
- Tamarind extract – 1 tsp
- Dates – Deseeded and chopped 1/2 cup
- Water – 1/2 cup
- Salt – 1/8 Tsp
- Sugar – 1 Tsp
- Cumin powder – 1/8 tsp
- Heat water in a small pot and let it come to a boil.
- Then add dates and let them cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Once the mixture is cooled, blend dates, water and rest of the ingredients into a smooth sauce in a blender or food processor.
- Add more water if you think consistency is too thick.
