What makes Kesar chai so special?
This tea is so easy to make and its flavors are very delicate. It is very refreshing especially in winter!
Saffron Tea / Kesar Chai Recipe:
Serves : Serves 2
- Water – 2 + 1/4 cups
- Saffron – 10-15 strands
- Agave nectar – to taste (you can use any sweetener)
- Cinnamon – 1/2 in
- Cardamon – 2 pods
- Green tea bags – 2
- Crush the spices roughly and keep them aside.
- Put the water in a pot or tea kettle and put it on medium high heat.
- Next add the spice mixture (Cinnamon, Cardammom and Saffron) and bring it to a boil.
- Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove the saffron water from heat and filter it into the tea cups.
- Mix in agave/sweetener and dip the tea bag for 1-2 minutes depending on how strong you want your tea to be.
- Serve warm!
