Hey all! I am sure most of you must be feeling chilly right now…Honestly, this is the first time I am enjoying fall and the cold climate. Growing up in southern part of India I am not used to harsh winters or winter. The first year I came to USA I was in Minneapolis….and then I realized I am not a fan of winter or snow…that’s the reason I am enjoying myself in Tucson. One chore that is going to hard as the winter approaches is waking up early in the morning and getting the day started. One thing that can make that little easier is sipping on a hot cup of coffee or tea. So today I am sharing the Saffron tea recipe which I fell in love with recently.
This tea is well known in Kashmir, they make it very frequently during the winter months, not only for the flavor but it also generates heat in the body. The original recipe uses Kashmir green tea leaves, but I have used the normal green tea leaves available in the grocery and it tastes so good. This tea also uses some spices and I am sure all these are available in most of the grocery stores.
One thing I forgot to mention in the video is that it is very important to crush the spices before adding them to the water. So please don’t forget to do that. I have used agave nectar for some sweetness but feel free to use any sweetener of your choice. In case you don’t find any spices…feel free to make the recipe without them.
Here is the detailed print friendly recipe with measurements.
